About FitStrong Kitchen

My name is Marcus Cole. I am a NASM-certified personal trainer, Precision Nutrition certified coach, and the person behind FitStrong Kitchen. I started this blog because I got tired of eating sad chicken breast and plain rice five days a week.

I wrestled in college at Maryland, which meant cutting weight constantly and having a deeply dysfunctional relationship with food. After college, I got into personal training and realized most of my clients had the same problem I did: they knew they needed to eat better, but every "healthy" recipe they found was either bland, complicated, or required ingredients they had never heard of.

FitStrong Kitchen is my answer to that. Every recipe here is designed for people who train hard and want food that supports their goals without making them miserable. That means:

  • Full macro breakdowns on every recipe. Calories, protein, carbs, fat. No guessing.
  • Meal prep friendly. Most recipes make 4-5 servings and reheat well on day four.
  • Real ingredients. Grocery store staples. Nothing you need a specialty shop for.
  • Honest cook times. If I say 30 minutes, I mean 30 minutes including prep.
  • Actual flavor. Seasoning is free. There is no reason for healthy food to taste like cardboard.

What I Believe

Nutrition should not be complicated. You do not need seventeen supplements, you do not need to eliminate entire food groups, and you do not need to eat out of tupperware containers that look like a hospital tray. You need enough protein, enough calories, and food that you actually want to eat.

I train six days a week. I eat everything on this blog. These recipes fuel my training, help my clients hit their goals, and taste good enough that my friends who do not even lift ask for the recipes.

Why Meal Prep

Because discipline has a shelf life, but a prepped fridge does not (well, about five days). The single biggest predictor of whether my clients stick to their nutrition plan is whether they meal prep on Sunday. It removes decision fatigue, eliminates the 6 PM "what should I eat" spiral, and saves money. Every recipe on this site is built with batch cooking in mind.

The Name

FitStrong is not about being shredded or hitting a PR every week. It is about being consistently strong, consistently fueled, and consistently showing up. The kitchen is where that starts. Every rep in the gym is powered by what you ate six hours ago.
